Sozin's Comet -book- (C) David Bergantino Published by Simon Spotlight/Nickelodeon
Whipped this up during my break from the next comic page.
I'm sick and tired of all the 'Sozin's Comet' spoilers floating about. I know, the book was released early. I know it was a great opportunity for Avatards to gain insight of the finale. I'm not ashamed at those who are impatient, but am ashamed at those who openly state any spoilers about the book- as I heard, it's VERY detailed and spoilery for a grade schoolar paperback.
There are die-heart fans out there who DO actually want to wait until the finale, as animation-wise, Avatar is much better at...you don't get good finales from a book aimed at kids aged 8. Honestly, keep the news to yourselves.
This actually include unintentional spoilers. If I see any honorable and loyal Kataang/Zutara/Tokka/George (Sukka) etc. take down their art, take down their icons, take down their 'I'm a _____ fan' signatures, draw rant comics/art, and claim 'in this time of need....' That alone is a very subtle spoiler.
Please. I want to wait. there are people I know who want to wait. I'm waiting 'til July so that Avatar can end with all its glory intact. Whatever the creators decide, decide. Whoever they want to kill, they kill. Whoever they want hooked up, hooked up. We'll see in the true finale- so no commenting on how good/bad the book was for you and its filled with massive spoilers.
Keep in mind: The book is an adaption. Adaption based on the finale- thereforth, stating the anything in the book could be completely altered for the sake of a children's book. Sure, some of the key points may still be in play as that of the actual series. But, if any of you have played 'The Burning Earth,' that as well is an -adaption- game. In the end, Katara and Aang defeat Azula and Zuko on the drill, claiming further victory. What's more important, is that there was no development scenes between characters in such, and there were added obstacles, like getting captured in jail. In the series, the true for fact events, the second season didn't end happy rainbows and airbender-made fruit pies- in fact, quite the OPPOSITE happend...with the conflict of the Avatar State, the stress of Azula's cunning, and the trufax on Aang getting fried like sizzle crisps to barely make it alive. There's your proof that the book may be rubbish, or may be right on the key points, but NEVER be as factorial as the original series. Things like character deaths, victories, and shipping may be true in the book- or maybe, they're adapted for the child's brain to understand and accept. The series isn't a normal kids television show and can't be brought down that way because of what a book says.
I refuse to read. In fact, I'm timid to even type Sozin's Comet on any search bar. DA, Youtube, Tv.com, etc aren't safe anymore.
Just because Nick made a dumbass decision, doesn't mean you should effect the people loyal to the animation whom are waiting. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Edit:// I just saw a scanned picture from the book on DA just by looking up 'Zuko' or 'Avatar.' Seriously, what the crap! Now, I can't look up anything A:tla related because of these damn spoilers. I know it's only one picture, and the following was something I bet everyone expected (no, it's not the shippings, that I can tell you). Still, I'm afraid of more spoilery titles and pictures amoungst our path.
A few weeks or less...just that long...we can do without reading the book. We have lasted a 10 month haitus with news only given by the 8th month! We can and will handle the wait.
I understand. See, I've been spoiled on the ending for only one thing. However, I usually drown my memory with the NYCC trailer [with fan screams] to show how the finale will be a blast.
I just wish people wouldn't post so many things about it in the first place. Maybe one place for those to discuss and such, but it's hard to avoid them if they're in front of your face.
Thanks. I appreciate it.

Hey, wtf? Why didn't DA tell me that you uploaded this? This morning, all it told me was that I had messages, and not deviations. Ah, whatever.
Lol, anyway, I'm not smart enough to even find the right website to look at this. xD Hell, I can't even look for the unaired episodes by myself without you directing me. xD I'm hopeless.

upon previous reflection, i have realized in deciding whether or not to obtain the spoilers that after being a fan for THREE WHOLE YEARS, would i want it all to end in a spoileriffic book for seven year olds? no. i do not. we all deserve to see the grand finale in animation form with the intense commercial breaks. ( i have actually grown to love commercial breaks as periods of discussion and/or extremely fast bathroom breaks thanks to avatar XD) awesome job

My point exactly. Normally, I wouldn't mind spoilers, so long as they didn't have anything to do with the finale. Like the Boiling Rock. A few people say that's hypocriticy, but I think there's a difference between seeing an episode that the creators, first off, planned and plotted prior to being leaked for non-Nickelodeon/Bryke decisive then looking at a kid book, probably formated in simplier words, that may not be 100% accurate anyway on the entire series finale. Yeah...I'd gladly see a leaked episode than read a book on it. (Mind you, I'm buying the DVD even after watching all the episodes on the 3rd disc as a guilt present ).
